Experimentations 2 - 2019

On that year, pre-and in service teachers were asked to create a multimedia collage of their becoming in CALL throughout this session as a way to disturb current representations of the connections between technology, language, and education.  To do so, they had to pick at least two of the following elements to map the ways they contributed to their transformations in CALL during this session: Intensity, resonance, their body, order, logic, speed, language, disruptions, boundaries, codes, interconnectivity, unpredictability, ambiguity, power, entanglements, or any other unexpected elements not listed here.

When browsing the collages, you may want to think about the ways the connections at play may have amplified or reduced the capacity of language and technology to change and be changed.

Feel free to share your thoughts and your stories

I have created this collage to represent some of the elements that helped contribute to my transformation in CALL. Although I have learned a lot through this course, I have chosen two elements to present on: language and interconnectivity. Language plays a key role in technology. As a society we have created a new culture in which we use language differently to communicate online. This includes the use of emojis and the creation of new words. Technology has also revamped the way we teach language in classrooms. Through the use of videos, online activities, blogs and various websites teachers can teach language in a fun engaging way. Technology has also connected us with millions worldwide. This interconnectivity has transformed the way we teach and learn new languages.
