Experimentations 3- 2020

On that year, the instructions were mostly the same as the previous year. The following items were just added to the list of elements to consider: Matter (material substance), order/disorder, strength, thoughts, objects,  and stability.

What about you, has your CALL learning journey been smooth and predictable? Have you encountered unforeseen disruptions that produced becoming? How did the element of strength (or any other element listed above) affect your capacity to change and be changed?

Feel free to comment and share your experiences.

My collage encompasses the interconnection among various aspects and intends to show the abstract nature of my thinking throughout this process. Although there are clear connections between the concepts, there is an intentional emphasis on ambiguity, illuminating my “web” of thoughts in my becoming of CALL. For instance, I begin by looking at my initial thoughts about technology and my personal experiences, which are connected to my use of technology in the classroom today, and how the implementation of technology has changed over time. These aspects are then connected to the overarching theme of CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning) which branches off to other aspects (e.g., interconnectivity, the flipped classroom, etc.). Overall, my becoming in CALL has been a non-linear process (as exemplified through this collage) and is by no means complete. I believe that I am still in the process of “becoming” where I am engaging with and becoming informed of emerging technology every day. This course illuminated the various ways that technology could be implemented in and enhance language learning (Virtual Language Education, Computer-Mediated Communication through synchronous and asynchronous learning, as well as collaboration).
The two main aspects that I focused on was interconnection and boundaries. Interconnection intends to bring together people from around the world (or country) and makes collaboration and language learning seamless. My collage highlights that technology could, in fact, impose boundaries, but is also crucial in blurring/breaking down these barriers that may exist in current education.
