Second language teaching is constantly evolving due to ongoing developments in new technology. As new technologies emerge, educators must adapt their pedagogical approaches and stay current with research findings on best practices. This assignment explores the ways that I have grown in my own Teacher Becoming in CALL to bring more effective and engaging language learning experiences to my second language learners.

My Multimedia Reflective Assemblage

The following assemblage includes various media types that work to explore the personal transformations that occurred throughout the Technology, Languages and Education course at the University of Ottawa. The major elements that are discussed include equity, sustainability and multimodality. Equity is a common topic regarding classroom culture, however the way in which technology can assist in that endeavour is not as discussed, despite the many applications and implications it can have. The development and creation of technology has many negative environmental impacts, resulting in the need to design and use technology with intention, in order to increase sustainability. The multimodality of technology, and the resources readily available, can aid educators in teaching to all learners, regardless of their abilities, learning preferences or language. These elements and more have had great, positive impacts on my journey as a teacher becoming in CALL, inviting insight and greater perspective as my journey in education continues.

I chose to represent my change of thought and growth during the course of this semester in a PowerPoint because it allows me to accurately compartmentalize my thoughts and break down individual concepts within CALL that are important to me. I think the accompanying graphics of the PowerPoint also fit my own thoughts well, as it shows a few teachers in a setting with both traditional and technological resources being used to teach. 
The three major sections of my presentation showcase where I was before the class, my reasonings and internal monologue during the class, and where I will take the information from this class into the future and applying it to my own teaching methods moving forward.

In the multimedia reflective assemblage crafted within the framework of the EDU 5148 course in a Canva Slides presentation, I document my journey of growth in TBIC as a teacher embracing Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL). This assemblage serves as a tapestry weaving together the evolution of social and technological elements in my pedagogical approach. Delving into the interplay between traditional teaching methodologies and modern technological advancements, I discuss the impact on my boundaries, strength, thoughts, and unpredictability. Through a diverse array of multimedia elements such as videos, audio, images, textual narratives, and interactive components, I encapsulate the nuanced shifts in my teaching persona, from a novice grappling with uncertainty to an educator navigating the unpredictable terrain of digital learning environments.

For the multimedia reflective assemblage, I chose to use Canva to showcase my learning throughout the course. As a teacher, I encourage my students to use this resource as there are many different options that can be used within it such as the creation of videos, infographics, colouring sheets, etc.. The options are endless! Canva is diverse and allows the sharing of knowledge in unique ways. Therefore, I hoped to demonstrate the diversity of this resource. In this assemblage, you will find audio and video recordings, animation, text, images, and links. Throughout this course, my understanding and usage of technology was advanced which I strived to showcase in this final assignment.
